I am running FF 32.0.3 on Windows 7.

Every time I start it up, FireFox attempts to install updates.

It then tells me that the updates could not be installed and to make sure that no other copies of FF are running (there aren't any).

I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF and it still does it.

I have set updates from "automatic" to "check for..." and it is still doing it.

Try going to task manager and killing all the firefox processes, then restart the firefox. Mostly it will help.

Unfortunately it does this from hard boot, so no FF processes running (just to be sure I checked in task manager before launching)

I just posted the exact same problem but on Win8.1 - stuck at 32.0.3. My Vista and Win7 systems have performed each incremental update to 33.1 with no problem.
