No problem. Just did the same thing on another PC having the same issue and resolved that issue as well. Seems that java 7.67 or lower might have a conflict with Firefox 33. Just update to java 8.25

hello jles5181, multiple other affected users have reported that this was an issue caused by malware on their pc. please run a full scan of your system with the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner (both these security tools are free).
Ran Malware Bytes last night already didn't detect anything. I'm a Network admin for my work so I have ran ad ware and malware checks before posting this question. Sorry didn't state that in my original post.
please try running adwcleaner as well, it is specialised on adware, which in many cases isn't detected by "traditional" security programs (i have seen a handful of reports this week by users who reported that it helped).
I ran adwcleaner, it didnt find anything. but I check my version of java and it wasnt the most recent update. I was running java 7.67 so I update to 8.25 firefox is running normal now. I'm guessing anything below Java version 8 causes this issue for Firefox 33 since malware bytes and adwcleaner didnt find anything. But thanks philipp
thank you too for reporting back with your findings!

richmpa, have you tried my initial suggestion yet?
Just did the malware and still no difference, will try the adwcleaner tomorrow. Thanks
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
- Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
- Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- (32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
I just tried the malware scan/clean again and the system seems to be running better. Pages are now opening without me having to move the mouse. Thanks philipp and thanks cor-el for your input as well. I'm going to keep this close in the event it happens again.
