Will Thunderbird eliminate duplicate emails from two Gmail accounts?
I typically receive over 50 or more emails a day, primarily from two gmail accounts. I am desperately trying to find a way to eliminate duplicate emails or more correctly to receive only one email on the same subject to speed up clearing my mail. I was told by Microsoft that Outlook 365 would solve my problem, but to date I have not been successful eliminating the problem.
I in searching for a solution, I came across Thunderbird and I am strongly considering a trial. Sometimes I get two emails on the same subject from the same source in one account; and often I get the same email in both of my gmail in boxes.
Does Thunderbird offer any solution or access to a third party add-on that will solve my problem. Or do you know of a better solution?
Thank you.

Try this add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/remove-duplicate-messages
There may be others on AMO. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/
This app will help clean up any duplicate stored emails; but my problem is with duplicates that arrive on both of my mailboxes - so I only receive one email - preferably in one primary mailbox. I want to the duplicate blocked or removed automatically, so I don't have to waste time eliminating them.
There is a difference between the server receiving two or more copies of same email and Thunderbird downloading one email twice thus creating a duplicate.
The server may receive several copies of same email, if sent twice by sender, or if sender accidentally added your email address twice when using a mailing list. Or if you have two email addresses and the sender sent same email to both email addresses. Or you have emails received by one email address forwarded to another, when the sender sent one email to both email addresses.
Thunderbird has no control over what the server is receiving or what the sender may or may not be doing.
But do you mean this: Gmail will keep a copy of all messages in the 'All Mail' folder. So if you are refering to an email in eg: Inbox and there is a copy in 'All Mail', then this is standard normal gmail. It uses the 'All Mail' folder as an archive folder. If this is what you are referring to then the best advise is to unsubscribe from seeing the 'All Mail' folder and delete any copy from the Profile Folder. After all, there is no need to double the size of your Profile nor see what may be thought of as duplicates. see info here under 'All Mail' sub heading
The addon can assist in removing duplicates, but you need to select the folder etc. This is a manual operation.
