I had a lot of tabs open and then I used the Forget button not reading what it would do first, which is opening a completely new window and letting me not restore my previous session. So I've heard that there's a file with the name index.dat or something similar that will let you see all websites you have visited even if it is deleted from your browser history.

IE uses an index.dat file to store its data.

Firefox store its data in the Firefox profile folder.
