Hi,

Since upgrading to Firefox 36.0.1 (and possibly earlier), Google Drive will not properly load. While I can get to the drive page, the colored wheel that google displays as its apps are loading just continues to spin. I've tried on Chrome and it loads fine. I've also tried opening Firefox in Safe Mode with extensions/add-ons disabled, as well as clearing cache. I haven't tried the Firefox Refresh yet, but I haven't done any tweaks beyond add-ons that should be interfering.

Has anyone else come across this problem? Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Thanks! I just tried, and it didn't help. I decided to do a "refresh" of firefox, though, and now it is working. I'll keep careful track of my add-ons and see if it happens again.

thanks!

One other common issues besides cache is possibly corrupted cookies. You can use the Permissions Manager to clear your Firefox cookies for all Google sites.

Type or paste about:permissions in the address bar and press Return or Enter to load that page

Above the left column is a search box, go ahead and type google in there and pause while the list is filtered. This list may keep growing longer as the search proceeds in the background.

Select one of the Google domains and on the right side Firefox should show if there are any cookies saved for that domain. Work down the list and clear any cookies you find.

Then return to Drive and log into your account again. Any improvement?

The Refresh feature should have created an Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop. I suggest retaining that for a week or two in case you notice any crucial data missing. It might also be interesting to compare the custom preferences file in that folder (prefs.js) with your new one after you've done your initial setup (maybe after 3 days) to see whether there are any significant differences.

Note that you can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
