Thunderbird won't connect to email server, message says connection refused. Restarting in safe mode with add-ons disabled doesn't fix the problem.
This just started, accidentally launched Thunderbird twice on start up and closed one window. Just as that window was closing, I spotted new emails in the inbox. But the emails did not show up in the browser left open and 'get mail' only resulted in error, 'connection refused'. Tried closing and re-launching thunderbird, and tried restarting computer but nothing works. How does one fix this issue? This is a work email account and must be opened straight away. Thanks

Have you checked with your email provider if they have a problem?
