So here is my problem. I have a handful of website where I have let FF save/fill my username and password information. For these few sites, I WANT FF to save and continue to fill my login information; however, I do not want FF to save my credentials for ANY OTHER SITE.

Now while I already have my login info saved in FF for these few sites, if I disable "Remember passwords for sites" in the Security Options, FF stops filling my login info for these sites (despite the fact that it still has the info saved). Once I re-check this option, FF starts filling my passwords again.

As far as I know, disabling "Remember passwords for sites" is the only way to get FF to stop asking me if I want to have it save my password, but if I do that it will also stop filling the passwords I have already saved.

So, is there a way to either: A) Have "Remember passwords for sites" disabled, but STILL have FF fill the passwords I have already saved, or B) Have "Remember passwords for sites" enabled, but STOP asking me to save passwords for ALL new websites?

I ONLY want FF to save AND fill the passwords I already have saved. I do not want to be asked to save passwords for any new sites whatsoever.

Is this possible? Perhaps an add-on or about:config setting I could change?

Thanks in advance!

In the Remember Password prompt: 2nd bulleted item - this choice is offered "To tell Firefox to never remember usernames and passwords for the current website, click the drop-down menu and select Never Remember Password for This Site. In the future, when you log in to the website you won't be prompted to save the username and password."

Thanks edmeister, but I already knew that. That is not my question.

I do not want to have to select, "Never Remember" for every single site I go to, I just want FF to stop asking me to save passwords completely from this point forward, as if "Remember passwords for sites" was un-selected.

You'll need to see if there is an add-on available to modify the way Firefox handles that - I am unaware of one. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Note that using Firefox in Private Browsing mode would have this effect. Otherwise you would have to toggle the signon.rememberSignons pref via an extension (PrefBar could do this) or a custom button and only enable the Password Manager if you are on a website where you want to use it.
