I have a lot of email addresses in my collected address book that I am not likely to email again or very often. I would like to save them somewhere, though, for future reference. I don't want them to pop up as suggestions when addressing a new email. I notice in the settings we can select local address books under composition. I would like to be able to select specific address books to suggest from so I can create an archive address book that doesn't get searched.

Thanks!

A) I'd recommend that you don't keep contacts in Collected Addresses. Move what you want to keep to a proper address book (e.g. Personal Address Book), and try to keep Collected Addresses empty. Collected Addresses, if used with the default settings, will accumulate all manner of addresses, many of which will not be useful to you. Prune it. Feel free to make additional user-defined address books to organize your Contacts.

B) Try the https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html add-on, which offers, amongst other things, the ability to associate specific address books with each account. But for this to be useful to you, you need to follow the advice above to make sure you have useful addresses filed away in a meaningful way.
