I has someone report, today actually, that they had needed to set the encoding to UTF-8 to get the import to work. Their spreadsheet apparently used something else. Once that was done, no issues.

As an aside, Do an address book export from Thunderbird as CSV format.

Using that as a guide change the column titles in the spreadsheet to match, both in names and order. It is much easier than poking around in that horrible little selector the import offers. I discuss using libre office spread sheet on CSV files here. If it is any help.

I figured out how to change encoding, but it's one of those situations where I can see that NO available encoding properly displays the original cyrillic , it's always gobbledygook. I reordered the columns in excel, used UTF-8 and exported it as .csv, but it still doesn't import. What do you think?
