How can I keep unauthorized websites from inserting cookies into my computer: The websites do not show up in the list within tools/options/privacy/exceptions. I use Firefox 39.0 with Windows XP pro. Examples are tripod.com, informaction.com, etc. I am also having problems with verisonwireless.com because I can't block or delete subwebsites that were previously "allow for session." When I block or delete them, they reappear the next time firefox is opened or the next time I boot the computer. Scans with Avira and Malwarebytes do not show anything amiss. Thank you

Block third party cookies in Custom History settings in about:preferences#privacy

I have checked the box named "Accept third party cookies" with NEVER as the option.

Thank you for your suggestion, though.

Since I am also having trouble with not being to change status of websites that appear in the Exceptions section under Privacy, perhaps the two problems are linked. Is that possible?
