i can not save messages to the sent folder, there is a padlock symbol over the file name

the Thunderbird mail engine has stopped saving emails to the sent folder, when i checked the sent folder it had a padlock symbol over the beginning of the file file. and a error came up saying 'error copying to sent folder'

. i am using Avast free anti-virus version 10.3.2225 . i am using gmail . i am using mozilla firefox

Matt i had to delete the last few line of the trouble shooting lines as it exceeded the 10,000 characters of content.
