Sync problems existing account on a new PC.

more options

I have a account Firefox. Used to sync with no problems. Used the browser on desktop PCs running Windows. Today I needed to reinstall the OS. And I took the opportunity to try out Ubuntu. After installing Ubuntu and updating Firefox, I've entered your account data to synchronize. About 30 minutes of using Ubuntu Firefox not synchronized. I did not dwell on this and proceeded to reinstall the OS on Windows. After installing Windows I installed the latest, at the moment, the version of Firefox and also entered the data for synchronization. But none of the settings, passwords and bookmarks available to me earlier in Firefox appeared. However, preserved the password to one of the sites I visited from Ubuntu. I have the feeling that these accounts Firefox overwrite with a clean Firefox from Ubuntu. What do I do? How to get data back? A lot of important passwords and links that will be very difficult to recover.

Hello

First of all, let me apologize for this issue. I know it can be really frustrating.

Your devices need to be on the new version of Sync in order for them to share information with each other. If any of your devices are still on the old Sync, you must unlink them before setting them up with the new Sync. Please see Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more for step-by-step instructions.

How do I know if I'm using the old or new version of Firefox Sync you ask?

  • New Firefox Sync requires only an email address and password to get started. No device codes or recovery keys are needed.
  • Old Firefox Sync required device codes instead of an email sign-in.

Hopefully from the steps you will be able to resolve this. Please post back if this does or does not fix your issue.

Regards

At the moment I have a single device. I think you misunderstood my problem. As I understand, data synchronization new device overwrite existing data account Firefox Sync and all that there was - lost. Why this happened and how can I recover the data? P. S.: Enjoyed The New Firefox Sync.
