How do I get rid of the ad/banner for GCLI developers tools that constantly pops up every time I reopen my Google/Firefox browser ?
This keeps telling me about something I don't want, will never want, as I'm not a web developer or whatever, and it just is so annoying that this pop-up keeps on appearing - something to do with "HACKS" for Firefox, whatever that may be - I 've presumed it isn't an actual hack, but I try to avoid the thing anyway - please help me banish it ....

Do you mean that this toolbar open each time you start Firefox even when you use its close X to close the toolbar?
This pref set whether the toolbar shows or is hidden:
- devtools.toolbar.visible
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
You can check for problems with preferences, see:
Otherwise please attach a screenshot of what you see.
