I have Thunderbird installed on my office PC and my laptop. I also have set it up to sync with email on my iPhone. Is there a way to configure it so that when I read it on my iPhone and delete it, the email is not deleted on the office PC? Also, is there a way to have storage folders only on the office PC and not on the iPhone or the laptop PC? I seem to remember at one time I could read an email on my iPhone, delete it from the phone and it remained in the inbox on my PC. I can't find any combination of features and/or options to do this again.

Thanks for any help.

IMAP is server based. You only view the messages on the server from your devices. You delete a message from any device and it is gone from the server and not available to any device. You can copy messages to folders under Local Folders in Thunderbird to retain a copy on that device. You might want to learn the differences between POP and IMAP so there are no surprises.
