Until I open bookmark page Firefox works great. Then I cannot close the bookmark page nor can I access any tab info from the top. There is NO way to minimize the open bookmark page or resume 'normal' Firefox upper menu options they do not return.

Thanks much any of you can help : ) ... it just happened after the new El Capitan and new Firefox update I have been using Firefox for 10 years this is NEW problem.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

THANK YOU... I would say all good...

BUT now what ? Go through add-on and disable each one by one? I love the add ons : ( ... I guess process of elimination?

And again, thank you... I am glad I have not gone crazzzzy.

Hello again,

After disabling ALL plug-ins and ALL add-ons and extensions it STILL freezes the bookmark page and in fact freezes my ability to navigate around.

ONLY in safe mode does the bookmark page open properly AND most importantly close. It does not close unless I am using safe mode and all the upper icons disappear.

thanks again if you have any more info please help... take care

Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem goes away, that tells us one thing. If it does not, that tells us something else.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;

Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.

Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.

Restart Firefox. Are there any problems?
