Hello ManfredM, do you ever try to check in Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away ?

Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

• Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

If there is still a problem, Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?

If you can't interrupt this action then it is likely that some (security) program that runs at Windows kernel level is involved.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

Thanks folks for your advises. Booting the computer in Windows Safe Mode generates to much restriction/handicaps to surfe widely. The feature Firefox Safe Mode seems to be the most progressive way, under this did not occur an issue, but had not yet enough tests.

Problem is that the issue is not reproduceable:

if it occurs and you clean the cache, close Firefox and start again on same Link the issue will not rehappen.

Could dissability to interrupt Ctrl/Alt/Del be caused by McAffee activity ? If yes, then why not always during link loading process ?

It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.

Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is detective.
