Thunderbird keeps crashing every few minutes @ shutdownhang | libpthread-2.19.so@0xc414 CAUSE: Enigmail?
Hi there.
My thunderbird keeps crashing every few minutes for unknown reason. It was working just fine for more then a year, so I'm not sure what is causing the latest problem - either some corrupted email or latest update.
When I run it, it works abour minute or two and then if you try to click on anything = not working, need to close it and when I do close it - process is still running in the background and the only way to launch TB again is to kill the process and then start it, as if you don't do that, I get an error that TB is already running.

I am VERY interested in your situation with enigmail. Please tell us ...
Have you definitely determined the cause of your crashes to be enigmail? And have you find a bug report?

This issue is confused, as the crash is caused only on shutdown. It is triggered by a 60 second hang.
So in your case we are back to the initial hang that is causing you to try to shut down Thunderbird.
Have you tried restarting without add-ons? it is on the help menu.
It might look as it's on shutdown, but it's not. After few minutes I can't click on anything.
I am testing now without addons / and will try to enable one by one.
It seems like Enigmail is making problem. Was working just fine with previous versions of TB.
Any idea what could be making problems?
I suggest you ask in the Enigmail community. They are very active. I would also appreciate if you could relay any information you get. If there is an issue with Enigmail it would be good to know about it

Yes indeed, enigmail is causing the problems - however, I've sent them an email, but still didn't get any response at all. Because of that, for now, my enigmail is completely disabled.
You might actually be experiencing is a hang. But I don't see any crash or hang bugs filed that match your description at https://sourceforge.net/p/enigmail/bugs/search/?q=hang+%7C%7C+crash
Strongly suggest file a bug report at https://www.enigmail.net/index.php/en/support/reporting-defects and post the bug# here. Thanks
I received a message last week that it's pending admin approval, something like that.
I will check it out once again when and come back to you after Easters. Meanwhile, enjoy the weekend and thanks for help/suggestions.
