When I accept a meeting request it goes on my Thunderbird calendar and not my Google Calendar so it doesn't show up on my mobile device. How can I fix this?
When I get a meeting request and I accept it shows up on my local calendar which I can't see on my mobile devices. I cannot figure out how to make these events go to my Google Calendar. I have tried disabling my local calendar and then it said "No writable calendars are configured for invitations, please check calendar properties". I just want 1 calendar that will show all my events on all devices.

How exactly are you configuring your Google calendar. It sounds like you have used the ical link on the web site to create a red only calendar.
Right click your google calendar and select properties. If the location does not start with https://apidata.googleusercontent.com/caldav/v2 there is a very high probability your calendar is set up incorrectly.
When you get the meeting request, it has been sent to a specific email address. Also, each calendar has an email address assigned to it. The invitation goes into the calendar matching the email address it has been sent to. So make sure your Google Calendar has the email address assigned the invitation has been sent to (the email address assigned to your Google Calendar within Lightning). Right-click the calendar - Properties in the left pane of the calendar tab to check.

You are correct, they are sending the meeting request to my work email and the calendar is obviously attached to my gmail address. That makes sense. I doubt there is a way around that. I don't want them sending work items to my gmail address.

There is, all you need to do is to assign your work email address to your Google Calendar within Lightning. This doesn't change anything for your Google account or Google email. Invitations don't need to be sent to your Gmail email address. Bloody simple.
