Why exactly has the old search bar been permanently removed?
Hi. I would like to know why exactly have developers decided to completely remove the old search bar from Firefox.
According to jscher2000 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1101020#answer-822371, the code for the old search bar has been permanently removed. The same goes for the browser.search.showOneOffButtons boolean.
This strikes me and, as it seems, many other users as a bad decision. The new search bar is disrupting.
I mean, this is a bad decision unless we understand why. I see the point of not making the old search bar a default feature, but I fail to see the point in completely removing it from Firefox.
As another user has remarked http://developed.be/2015/12/19/firefox-43-removed-option-switch-bac..., in order to get such a basic features, we now need (paradoxically enough) to install an extension.
Please be kind and restore the browser.search.showOneOffButtons boolean if there is no major reason for not doing so.
Thank you.

Just did it. Thanks for replying. Is it possible to delete this question here?
I don't think it's possible to delete a question, but I've never tried. Anyway, you could leave it for future reference in case someone else has the same question.
