My old laptop was stolen, firefox won't sync my bookmarks and add-ons for my new laptop even though Firefox shows both my old and new devices under "accounts."

Hi, my laptop was stolen and I bought a new one. My old laptop had Firefox sync enabled so I figured I could recover all of my bookmarks and add-on configurations. Installed firefox on my new laptop, signed in to sync, but nothing is happening. Both devices/accounts (old and new) show up under options->sync->manage account->devices, but nothing is syncing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help. Getting your computer and all your unbacked up pictures and files stolen sucks, I was hoping at least to not lose all my bookmarks.

Sorry about your loss. Been there once - back in 2008. It's possible that whoever stole your laptop changed the Password for your Sync account before you were able to connect that new device. When the account Password is changed all the data on the Sync server would have been cleared. That old Password held the "keys" to decrypting your data; a different Password & "keys" wouldn't be able to decrypt your data.

Unless you inadvertently reset your Sync Password when connecting the new device to Sync, that is probably the best explanation of why your data wasn't recovered.
