Default "From" email account when using templates
I have several email accounts that I use in Thunderbird. In one of the accounts, I have set up a number of templates. When I select a template to send as a new message, the default "From" email address is not the same address where the templates are located so I'm manually having to change it each time so I'm sending from the right email account. Can anyone help?

I think the designers assumed you would store a template in the Templates folder of the account that you wished to use with that template.
In certain situations, such as using a template to provide an automatic reply with a filter, the template MUST be in the Templates folder of the appropriate account.
Yes, the template is stored in the Templates folder of the account I wish to use the template. But when I click on it to use it, it uses a different "From" from email account so I have to remember to manually go up and change it to the correct account. A glitch maybe?
So for example I have one email account called "Mechelle" and another called "Michael." I have the templates stored in the Templates folder for Michael's account. When I open a template to send it, the from is "Mechelle" and not Michael. Very strange.
You say From is incorrect once template email is opened in a new Write message, but is 'From' header correct in the Template folder before you open it to use?
In Michaels mail account select 'Templates' folder to see list of template emails. select one so it shows in the lower Message Pane. What email address is in the 'From' header ? Is it 'Michael' email address?
click on 'More' and select 'View source' what do you see here: Example:
- X-Identity-Key: id2
- X-Account-Key: account3
Please Copy paste the info you see and paste it into a Reply in this forum.
'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' >'General ' tab click on 'Config editor' button
In top search type: useremail locate: mail.identity.idX.useremail = Michaels email address what is the idX = Michaels email addess - (where the X is a number)? Is this the same as the : X-Identity-Key: id number you saw in the template source?
In top search type: identities locate: mail.account.accountX.identities = idX number as shown in template source. what 'accountX' number = the idX Is this the same as the : X-Account-Key: account number you saw in the template source?
