I set both my wife's and my FF 56 never to check for updates, and, nevertheless, this morning, FF updated itself on both computers to 57. Neither of us can stand 57. Layout is terrible, tab management is abhorrent, and the lack of previous add-ons just heart-wrenching.

How can we *really* stop these unrequested updates?

Sincerely,

Hans L

You should not use old versions of Firefox, they are vulnerable to many known security holes.

Thanks for your response. The major issue is tab control. I can, with certain settings, get a new website page to open in a new tab, but after the first time, every new website page opens in an existing tab. Can this be fixed.
