Since the update to Quantum video playback has had issues at youtube. The video starts and continues just fine but after a bit the video will stutter or get jittery. The audio plays normal. The only way to fix it is to pause and play the video but then it starts again soon after. I googled the issue and found a few other reports, one saying it was fixed by setting webgl.disabled to true under the about:config settings. It did not work for me. I have updated my vid driver as well (geforce 1060). I have a fairly high end system (R7 1700, 8gb Ram, nvme ssd) with as little as possible running in the background.

Links?

I currently have FF57.01 and yutubbers don't stutter on my side are you really sure this isn't related to your ISP or O/S problems? My system is high end as well. AMD X370 1500X GTX1060 6G 16g RAM and W10x64 Pro.

Link, YouTube.com. I've been in IT for 15 years so yes I'm sure it's not my computer. Same issue on my computer at work after Quantum.

It looks like some software related to accesibility is blocking e10s / multiprocess. Also see the What is the Accessibility Service Indicator? support article.

  1. Click the menu button Fx57Menu and choose Options (Preferences on Mac).
  2. Select the Privacy and Security panel.
  3. Go to the Permissions section.
  4. Check the Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser checkbox.
  5. Restart Firefox.

Yet something is causing the Accessibility section for your setup to show "True" in about:support, so I would make sure to get that disabled. How many processes does Firefox use? Also see:

Accessibility not available during multi-process support Re-enable multi-process support disabled by Windows utilities

... and try the preferences mentioned there (browser.tabs.remote.force-enable, accessibility.loadedInLastSession and accessibility.lastLoadDate).

I’m not entirely sure but assume such settings are set correctly (or absent) in a new profile to test with, unless that external software hooks in to Firefox anyway and causes the accessibility prefs to be set for any new profile. Remember to restart Firefox after changing any of the preferences mentioned.

Additionally, I don’t trust multiple add-ons with the same purpose, such as uBlock and Adblock Plus. Try uninstalling one or more extensions, and restart Firefox afterwards. Starting Firefox in Safe Mode may help too, yet a clean new profile to test would speed up the troubleshooting. Ideally, you should not see any bold preferences containing "accessibility" in about:config.

/Edit: also check for the preference extensions.e10sMultiBlockedByAddons and make sure the value is set to false. The same is valid for extensions.e10sBlockedByAddons.

More info on this preference and possibly the same issue can be found here and here. If changing the above preference does not help, use the other preferences related to e10s mentioned there. To be honest, I think some WebExtensions may cause one of them to be left in a wrong state and experience this for one of my profiles, possible caused by issues when the first webExtensions came out, or afterwards. Not all WebExtensions may be functioning flawlessly yet, unfortunately, and the same may be true for handling them and e10s (or their migration) in Firefox.

I did all the things. I also removed firefox and leftover folders. Reinstalled, no addons, still saw issues.

It would be very appreciated if you responded to suggestions a bit more in detail.

As said earlier, something is clearly enabling accessibility access in your setup(s) possibly causing the issue. Most likely it’s some piece of software set up on any of them, and we need to know what it is.

I'm not sure what more detail you want. I did everything in the post I quoted, which is what I said. I also said I uninstalled and removed everything I could find relating to firefox, then reinstalled it. With no addons and no special settings the same problem continues. I will quote and reply to your suggestions when I have another chance to work on it.

Well it sounds like you have something besides FF that is the cause of the problem since no one is there to see how and what setup you have this will never really be resolved. I can get to yutubbers without problems logged in or not. What kinda firewall are you using along with the A/V software?

Oh it works for you? Great. That doesn't help me. Please stop offering your help on "yuttubers" or whatever it is you're talking about.

I've run through everything in your previous longer post. Everything I check in about:config is set as I'm told it should be. There is no accessibility.loadedInLastSession or accessibility.lastLoadDate entries. As it stands I'm running with a new install, having uninstalled and removed any folders/files left behind I could find. I have created a new profile. I have lastpass and ublock origin installed though I had tested youtube before installed those. I see six firefox processes running. I checked for bold preferences containing "accessibility" and accessibility.force_disabled was set to 1 and bold so I've changed it to 0. Is there anything else I can give you that would shed any light on the issue? Logs or something?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
