can I set my home address?
Just a minor annoyance, but for some reason, when shopping or using a map service (e.g. Google Maps) it shows my home as several counties and 2 area codes away from my home. My guess is that's my ISP's address. (Physical address, not web address.) Can a home address be preset into Firefox that would override this?

No, Firefox doesn't have an "override" for that.
The internet uses the physical address for the IP Address on record for the computer connection being used to determine the "home address" location of that computer. Devices / web browser can't "fix an improper location".
Go to this page: http://whatismyipaddress.com/
In the "My IP Imformation" box at the top of the page, you'll find two hyperlinks, Location not accurate? and Update your IP location in the bottom of that box.
Use those to see if that helps straighten that difference out for you. I can't test it myself because I live in a major metropolitan area and my internet provider provides information that "pegs me" just 3 blocks from my "true physical location. Plus there are at least 3 sources for that information in the USA, and I have no idea if "What is my IP Addess" data submissions sends the "correction" to all 3 sources.
Another factor that may enter the equation is Wi-Fi signals - the IP Address data which is collected by Google StreetView vehicles can "peg" the IP Address to your front door - and if you are in a built-up area and are using a Wi-Fi enabled router it can separate out different street addresses for multi-tenant buildings at the street level. Scary that "big brother" can obtain access to that data via a court order submitted to the service provider for an IP Address "they" are interested in ...
