I don't own a personal tracking device (i.e. a cell phone, iphone, or ipad), how do I stop the automated email from firefox from advising me to complete the syncing process?

Go to the sync control page, and turn it off.
Type about:accounts<enter> in the address bar. [57+] https://accounts.firefox.com/settings
