Hi, I've installed the Mozilla maintenance service and told Firefox to use a background service to update, but the UAC still appears requiring admin credentials to update Firefox.. This is a problem in a corporate environment as the end users won't have the credentials.. At this stage, the only option I have is to disable updates...

Did you install Firefox as a normal user and did you make sure that Firefox isn't set to run as administrator?

Try to uninstall the Mozilla maintenance service in the Windows Control Panel and reinstall the maintenance service as a user by running the maintenanceservice_installer.exe file in the Firefox program folder.

Thanks for you reply.. Firefox was installed as an admin and is included in our SOE image.. Firefox runs for standard users without the UAC appearing, it's only when an update tries to install they get prompted.. How do you check if firefox is set to run as an admin? All the SOE software gets installed as an admin, but run as a user and none of the other applications have this issue.. When you try to install the maintenance service, it requires admin privileges, so ultimately you are installing it as an admin anyway...
