I accidentally entered some characters into the password field of a website I often use. I don't have a password for the site.

Now, whenever I browse to the site Firefox automatically puts those characters into the password field. Then every time I browse elsewhere on that site firefox says "Would you like to save this login?" Of course, I don't want to save it since it's incorrect. The problem is that this box pops up whenever I browse and I have to get rid of it each time.

I have tried getting rid of it by deleting the entry in the history library, but that doesn't work. I think it's because the history library is only for deleting *entered* passwords.

Where can I delete this?

Hi

If you type about:preferences#privacy in the address bar and scroll down to Logins and Passwords, you should see a Saved Logins button. Select this and you should have the option to edit or delete the login in question.

I hope this helps.

I have already checked there. It doesn't appear in that list, so I can't remove it there.

Do you know anywhere else that I could try?
