Tabs cannot be merged from one window to another via the task bar

Recently, dragging a tab from one window/its own window to another browser window on the task bar, the latter window does not 'come to the front'. I run all pages full screen, always.

Tested on two desktops, Win7, FF 68.01

Let me see whether I understand:

  • You want to drag one or more tabs from the tab bar of Firefox maximized window "A" to Firefox maximized window "B".
  • You start the drag, and in order to make Firefox window "B" active, you hover over the Windows Taskbar icon until the thumbnails show.
  • You then hover the thumbnail but the process breaks down here because Firefox doesn't activate that window to let you move the tab onto its tab bar.

I see that, too. Did this work before?

Yes. Until a few months ago, this feature existed. I would highlight a bunch of tabs in a window, grab and drag them to a browser window button on the task bar, that browser window would come to the front, and I would place them in line with the other tab(s).
