Remote Content in Messages articles explains that 1. remote content is blocked (NOT removed) 2. Remote content are parts of a message (such as images, stylesheets, or videos) which are not included in the message itself, but are downloaded from the Internet when you view the message.

You will have to remove any links to remote content, and since that is usually buried in the message source (Ctrl+U), it might be useful to reply or forward in plain text format to expose the unwanted code. If your default format is HTML, hold Shift when replying or forwarding (or starting a new message) to change the format to plain text. You could also copy from the message source, just the content that is necessary, excluding remote links and scripts.
