Why am I getting this message: This is the placeholder for domain accuratereloading.com. If you see this page after uploading site content you probably have not replaced the index.html file.

This page has been automatically generated by Plesk.

Previous version worked fine accessing this site, Chrome also works fine. Also new version seems to be running very slow accessing and navigating some sites. Thanks.

Hey there!

Is it possible to get a screenshot of your problem? On my side the website is working perfectly and I am using Firefox 91.0.1 .

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Bithiah

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

Thank you for the replies. What I have found: If I type in an address i.e. http:\\www.xxxx Firefox automatically changes it to https:\\www.xxx. It appears that some web sites do not like the https. In the privacy settings I have checked 'do not use https only' but it still appears regardless of what I type. Is there some other place that controls whether or not https/http is used?

Some servers send a response header to upgrade the connection automatically to secure HTTPS and some might be on the HSTS preload list. Also is Firefox notices that the server has a valid certificate then Firefox might switch to secure HTTPS. You can check the latter via "Page Info -> Security" and in the Network Monitor.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required) of servers that only work with HTTP and where Firefox insists in using HTTPS?

In the 'Search with Google or enter address' window I enter 'http://www.accuratereloading.com' and it immediately changes to 'https://www.accuratereloading.com' then gives me the message: This is the placeholder for domain accuratereloading.com. If you see this page after uploading site content you probably have not replaced the index.html file.

I have the "Don't enable https-Only mode" box checked in the security settings.
