how exactly location permissions work?
if i don't block new websites from requesting permission to access my location, will they be allowed to access my location automatically, or will i be asked every time?

The default for accessing your location is 'Always Ask' as you should see if you open "Tools -> Page Info -> Permissions". If you allow a website then this website is added as an allow exception that you can find in "Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Permissions" and can possibly revoke.
