Hello Firefox,

The IT department at my company's office updated our company website. They provided instructions on how to reach the company website, but only for Microsoft Edge & Chrome. I do not use those browsers.

How can I direct my Firefox browser to connect to our company website: http://cozzini.com ?

Below is how to establish a connection using the Chrome: Chrome: 1. On your computer, open Chrome. 2. At the top right, click More, which is the icon 3. Click Settings. 4. Click Privacy and security 5. Click Security 6. Scroll down to Use secure DNS 7. Select With 8. Select Goggle (Public DNS)

I have tried to locate a similar setting in the Firefox browser, but I can't find the setting.

Please help.

Regards,

Rich Grazioli ...

Hi Rich, the "insecure" address http://cozzini.com/ should work in Firefox without any special settings. Are you trying to get https://cozzini.com/ to work -- is that why a settings change is needed?

Hello jscher2000,

http://cozzini.com times out.

https://cozzini.com brings up a warning about an invalid certificate.

I am trying to get this fixed on Firefox to avoid using Chrome or Edge.

Thanks for any assistance in resolving this issue.

Hi Rich, maybe it is timing out because you are in a network that points cozzini.com to a different address than the one I see. Could you try enabling "DNS over HTTPS" in Firefox to see whether that is the equivalent of those Chrome instructions. Details in this article:

Firefox DNS over HTTPS

Hi jscher2000,

DNS over HTTPS was already enabled. I disabled DoH, and the results did not change, timed out.

Maybe the problem is the type of DNS. How can I direct Firefox to use Google (Public DNS) as directed by our IT department?

Right now, Firefox only offers Cloudflare (Default), NextDNS or Custom for selecting the DNS Provider.

Google has a page here with its two different DNS over HTTPS URLs: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/doh

Using https://dns.google/dns-query worked for my sites. You could test whether it helps with your site when you enter it as a Custom provider:

By the way, since my Chrome won't allow DNS over HTTPS due to an IT policy (?), what does "With" refer to in the original Step 7?
