How to disable custom pages?

In Android when opening any links from any App, they open in the App. There is an option to disable in-app links in some apps but not in all and it is lengthy to do it one by one. In chromium browsers we can disable them with this option called custom pages (might be called little bit different) where if it is turned off, the apps will open links in browser fully no matter their settings.

Is there a way like this in Firefox? The option called Open Links in Apps does not seem to be working as I have it turned off but it still lets Apps open links in themselves.

Hi

To stop this from happening, you will need to unset Firefox for Android as the default browser:

  1. Open your phone's Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps & notifications.
  3. Tap the app that you no longer want to be the default. If you don't see it, first tap See all apps or App info.
  4. Tap Advanced And then Open by default And then Clear defaults. If you don't see 'Advanced', tap Open by default and then Clear defaults.

Hi

I am not too sure what you are trying to do.

When you open a link in another app (that is not Firefox for Android), what would you like to happen?

Lets say I open a link in Gmail then it opens inside Gmail using Firefox or any default browser. I can turn it off to make Gmail open links in browser directly. But this is not an option to turn off globally in the browser itself. It is in chromium based browsers but I am not sure about Firefox.

Is this from the Gmail app or from Gmail within Firefox for Android?

From the App.

So when you select a link in an email, by default it will open in an instant app.

When you have this turned off n the Android Settings app (under Default apps and Opening links) - does the link open in your default browser?

If there is an option to turn off instant links in individual apps, then it is fine otherwise they all open an instant of firefox in the app itself.
