As mentioned in subject line, Window Control buttons disappear when in Fullscreen Mode. They literally scroll out of view. This looks like a "feature", which is what is most distressing. If this is the new way it is intended to work, then it's not broken, just super-inconvenient, going forward.

If I switch back out of fullscreen mode, then the buttons immediately scroll back into view. This means that anytime I want to switch out of Firefox for a minute, I have to first un-Fullscreen, then hit the now-visible Minimize button. Boo. I hate it.

Please tell me this is some random bug, and I should reinstall Firefox - anything other than that this is the new way of things...

Thanks.

P.S. Forgot to mention: I am on an up-to-date Win10 desktop

Lol really? This is a feature of every browser. If you really want to switch quickly just use a keyboard shortcut like Alt+Tab.

If you want to keep complaining, just move your mouse to the top of the screen and they'll re-appear.

@Couch: Dude. If you don't have anything constructive to say, don't say anything. I'm not a noob. I've been on the Mozilla browser since Netscape 1.0, and I work in IT. I know my way around a computer, let alone a browser.

I'm not talking about how the navigation bar and buttons scroll away - that's a selection I have always made (i.e the "Hide Toolbars" option) but at the top of those toolbars was the Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, etc.) and at the opposite corner, there were the Window Controls (Min, Max, Close). As such, even in Fullscreen Mode, you could make the toolbars reappear, and hit the minimize button. As of 95, when selecting Fullscreen, the Menu and Window Control section disappears, and only reappears when you exit Fullscreen Mode. I run heavy on the mouse, and don't always have the keyboard right in my lap, so I would like to still access those buttons with my mouse, without the extra step of coming out of Fullscreen, and then the further extra step of going back into Fullscreen, once I restore the window.

And besides, how do you know that I am not paralyzed on the one side, and so can't easily Alt-Tab, and have to rely on the mouse to get most of my stuff done? Think before you denigrate someone for not doing it the "smart way" that you do it. Oh, and maybe know more of the specifics of which you are speaking. A$$h0le.

I seem to have a similar issue on Firefox 94.0.2. If, in full screen mode, I move the mouse pointer to the top to the screen, the navigation bar and menu bar reappear but the former overlays the latter. I eventually discovered that the window controls had mysteriously moved to the tab bar.

There are three possible places for the window control buttons. When the Title bar is visible then the appear on the Title bar. If the Title bar is hidden and the Menu bar visible then the controls are placed in the Menu bar. If the Title bar and the Menu bar are hidden like is the default in Full Screen mode then the controls are on the Tab bar. If you use code in userChrome.css then it is possible that the controls are hidden in Full Screen Mode. You can check that in Firefox Troubleshoot Mode as that disables userChrome.css.

This is a regression bug (#1745189) that happens if the Menu bar is visible in regular mode (i.e. you can fix it for now by hiding the menu bar). See my reply here:

@cor-el: Thanks for your suggestion. I don't use the Menu Bar so much, so I suppose this is OK as a workaround. Not fantastic that I have to use a workaround, but glad to see it is registered as an official bug. I guess I'll just have to keep testing on each update, to see if functionality has returned...
