Suddenly every file from every website is dangerous, clicking allow download does nothing. I disabled download filters both in settings and in about:config, yet everything is still caught and cant be resumed

Hi corey.frank0118,

Try opening firefox in Safe mode,

  • Find the Firefox icon or click Start and type Firefox.
  • Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and then click the Firefox icon.
  • In the Firefox Safe Mode window, click the Start in Safe Mode option.

Thank You.

Hi, I will try and let you know, however I feel that I shouldve been more clear. It was working prior to tonights nightly and after it suddenly stopped on the same download/website. Its possible safe mode could help but that doesnt really feel like a solution to the issue.

Is it a HTTP download or HTTPS download?

https. I've tried several from difference sources to test. At times itll allow and block the same source.

The over zealous filtering is one thing, but I can't override it despite multiple prompts indicating that I can.

No unfortunately, I've nearly had to abandon the browser at least when it comes to downloading files. At times it'll allow one download then block all other attempts from the same site, again it just ignores any "allow download" requests from me.

Damn... is there anywhere I could start or any troubleshooting? Safe mode still has the issue. I am frustrated as I feel like I have to completely abandon the browser I've been using primarily and I can't even begin to figure out why it wont function.

Again nevermind the filtering, I imagine there are too many varibles there. Perhaps can we address that I can't even bypass it using the options? There are two different ways, via left and right click to select "allow download" neither work. I have turned off all filtering in settings and the DOM in about:config. Is there something that could cause those to be ignored? Are those false choices?

Given that, what mechanism could firefox be using to filter at this point. Why is it continuing to filter despite me turning off the filter and further allowing the download.

Is there anything anyone can offer to help me here?

You can try the mozillaZine Firefox Builds forum as they know more about issues with Nightly. You need to register at that forum and your first post might require approval.
