Firefox is default browser. Got Gmail from Pershing about available tax document. Clicked link, logged in to Pershing, clicked on tax form hyperlink to open / download it. (All this is in the Gmail app). The Firefox app opens but no window for the tax document appears. Same thing happens if I use Firefox directly to log in and open the tax document link. Then I do the same thing but using Chrom; everything works fine.

Tried with "desktop site" off and on, no change.

In Chrome the file opens in a new tab and looks like a PDF file. It downloads as a PDF file. But I don't know how it is coded on the web page.

Hi

Firefox for Android currently does not open .pdf files. You will need to use a dedicated .pdf viewer app on your Android device.

Thanks for the quick response.

Sorry, I should have said it's a desktop running Windows 10. I've had a number of problems with Firefox on this machine and just discovered today that many were caused by Firefox using my GPU for acceleration. I've yet to retry the download that didn't work but I think the link to it may not be a PDF link, maybe an "aspx" or something like that; i.e. something that causes more processing than a simple download and so might get fouled up by the hardware acceleration problem. I'll repost after I've checked it out. Thanks again.

Double sorry. The problem was on Android. I tried the desktop and got sidetracked by the display problems so I'm a bit tangled now. I'll retry and give a more cohesive account.
