Latest Update to 99.0 changed google sheets language to Russian
After the recent update to FireFox 99.0 my google sheets changed the menu language to Russian. The google docs account is set to English. This happened immediately after the latest firefox update. Where does google docs get the language from? Seems it gets it from Firefox because it changed after the update. Appreciate any insight to this.
Thank you,
Wm

Are you possibly using a VPN or proxy ?
You can use websites like these to see how your location is reported via a reverse DNS look up of your IP:
You can check the connection settings.
- Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
See "Firefox connection settings":
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. No I'm not using a VPN or proxy. I tried the setting "No Proxy" and restarted firefox. No change still in Russian. Anything else I can try?
Thanks
Is there a setting on the site which enables you to set the language used?
Hi Terry,
Yes there is a language setting in google docs and it is set to English. No change there.
Thanks
What extensions do you use? Have you tried disabling all extensions and going to the site?
The only two plugins are as follows:
OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc. This plugin is automatically installed by Mozilla
Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google
I restarted Firefox with addons disabled. Google sheets still in Russian.
Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).
"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"
"Clear the Cache":
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.
If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.
