Downloading attachments Mozilla / Yahoo mail
Couple days ago Yahoo Mail stopped downloading attachments of any type. Only happens when using Mozilla. Yahoo mail works fine with edge and android. The following had no affect: (1) signing out and in to yahoo mail. (2) Clearing cache etc in Mozilla (3) rolling back recent windows updates. Occurs with all types of attachments, so not an app issue. Appreciate your help, please include only those suggestions which consider the "suddenly" part...

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What are the exact error messages?
Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link}
(There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.
This download manager works separately from the browser.
The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.

Attachments on Yahoo Mail via Mozilla can be previewed but not downloaded. When you click on the attachment link, you dont get the normal "open or save" pop up, instead, after a couple seconds, you get "download failed" message in the Mozialla "bookmarks - history- download" icon area upper right. Forgot to mention, occurs in safe mode to. Also tried drafting an email to myself, attaching a file, seemed to work/send fine, but could not open the attachment in neither the copy in my inbox nor the copy in my sent mail folder.
worked fine for years and suddenly stopped.

I don't know Yahoo mail and I called for more help.

Also tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox. No change in symptoms....can't download attachments from Yahoo Mail while using Firefox, works fine with Edge. Worked fine for years - suddenly stopped. Anyone? Anything? Please stay within the confines: 1. No Additional Apps 2. Account for the "suddenly" part

Yahoo Mail Plus tech support was not helpful. I had tried all of their "fixes" many times before which did not work (clear the cache, make sure you're upgraded, etc). After previewing an attachment or downloading one, my Yahoo Mail tab disappears from Firefox. The problem is not duplicated in any of the Chrome-based browsers. This may have happened to me in AOL Mail today as well, but I am watching that to see if it happens. I have FF 104.02 and I can't tell yet if that solved the issue.
