"Read more" and other simple scripts broken with dark reader

more options

I was told to post this here so someone could look into it. I use the Dark Reader Addon, which seems to be the only dark mode add-on for Firefox, but lately it is causing issues with simple scripts on websites, namely the "read more" button on pretty much every news article. The button is just completely unresponsive unless I disable Dark Reader. Very frustrating as bright white backgrounds strain the eyes and dark mode really helps.

I posted a review directly on the Dark Reader Addon page as well.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S22 running Android 13.

It would be nice if dark mode capabilities were standardized and built into the app/websites instead of needing special workarounds like add-ons.

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out about this issue. It sounds like you're having trouble with the Dark Reader Addon on your Samsung Galaxy S22 running Android 13. It can be frustrating when simple scripts like the "read more" button don't work properly with Dark Reader enabled. One thing you could try is disabling Dark Reader for that specific website or adjusting its settings to see if that helps. Another option might be to reach out to Dark Reader's support or the add-on's community for assistance. Regarding your suggestion for standardized dark mode capabilities, that's a great idea, and I agree it would make things smoother.
