Within last week I am unable to log on to Bank of America online banking. I have followed all suggested prior recommendations to the best of my ability but problem persists. BofA first told me it was a compatibility problem they were having with Mozilla

I cannot log onto Bank of America website from Firefox. This problem started recently. At first BofA said they have a compatibility problem with new version of Firefox. Then they say no, it's a Firefox problem. I've tried the solutions listed in prior threads but none work. I have no problem logging onto BofA via IE.

I fixed my problem by disabling a microsoft add-on extension Go to tools on the firefox memo, then "addon" then "extensions" If you have an add on extension "Microsoft.NET Framework assistant 1.2.1...disable it and see if you can now log onto Bank of america

I got this problem when I upgraded to ver 3.6.12 from 3.6.11. I called BofA and after half an hour on phone, they told me to try using another browser. I used Intenet Explorer & they couldn't find the BofA site either. BofA had been told the problem was with any Firefoz version of 3 or higher. After I got off the phone with BofA, I downloaded an older version that I had been using without any problems & installed that.(3.5.15) That didn't work either.

If the problem is with Firefox, why can't Internet Explored find the site either?

I tried this solution - it did not work for me. I notice that these posts are from May & June, and I am having the problem in October. HELP!!

I started having this problem after upgrading to 3.6.12 as well (at least judging by my upgrade date, I had no problem last month), and I have received the same error message that the service is temporarily unavailable. I received the same message on Safari, as well as using IE on a PC. B of A has submitted a ticket and now I am waiting to hear back from them.

disabling the Microsoft Net add-in worked for me too - not sure what else this might affect but as least can get into bank site now - thanks Anonymous!

I'm having this issue after updating to FF4. Both on my bank and paypal. I have tried a new FF profile and FF in safe mode, it STILL doesn't work in firefox. Really not impressed...

I had an add-on that was preventing me from seeing my account information. I could pull up the Bank of America website, and login. It would show me the account screen, but when I tried to view the account it would say, "Unable to display the page" The add-on that I disabled was a logitech device detection 1.21.0.11 When I disabled it, I was able to access Bank Of America.

For those who may have been victimized by a nasty redirect virus that likes to rearrange the deck chairs in your hosts file, you may want to check there for the legitimate site (in this case bankofamerica.com) that is being blocked. [Go to: C > Windows > system32 > drivers > etc]. Check for a file simply called HOSTS. Open it with notepad for a look at blocked sites. FYI, even though you may have run a good malware sweep, this file may be compromised or missing entirely (mine was). This will require a reload of a clean MS hosts file, so use a good hosts management tool like hostsxpert to get the job done. Using Bank of America as an example, when using the tool to edit your file there will be a number of blocked 'impersonators' such as www.bankfoamriqa.com or www.bankofamerida.com listed, so be careful and precise when deleting the legitimate domain (if evident). You'll rejoice.
