I think my child is visiting porno sites then clearing the history. How do I go about checking the history once it's been cleared?

Hello g4q2genius.

You can't see deleted history. That would be a serious security issue, as you probably understand.

You may, however, be able to see cookies from those visited sites:

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Cookies

Your child may be unaware of those and deleting history entries only will not delete cookies. Of course, browsing cookies is harder, but they will appear there if the sites your child visited stored them there.

If you child is using private browsing to browse, no data will be stored and you won't find anything at all.

You may want to disallow access to certain sites, instead of simply checking if those sites were accessed. For that, there is a myriad of filtering software all around the web, paid or free. Firefox can help you with that if you install extensions like BlockSite. Of course, you need to know the sites to block. There may be other extensions with intelligent filters, but, in my experience (which isn't much, since I'm not a parent), you're probably better off using system wide filtering software. The problem with extensions is that they only block access through Firefox. If you have other browsers in your system, anyone will be able to circumvent the filter by using that other browser. Some firewalls, for example, have site filtering, although they, like BlockSite, have to be configured manually. If you search the web, you'll probably find dedicated software that filters 18+ sites in the web, and they work for the whole system, and are normally way harder to remove (password protection is common in that software, which is probably what you want).

I'm sorry I can't be of further help.
