I recently downloaded MyHeritage software for creation of a family tree. Unknown to me and without my permission, My Heritage hijacked and made itself the default browser on my computer replacing the Mozilla firefox browser that I have used for several years. I uninstalled the MyHeritage software from my computer but their browser remained as my default when I launch Firefox. Can you help me get rid of this intrusive problem and restore my default browser to Mozilla Firefox? Thank you, Ron Weed

"Default browser" or is MyHeritage.com set as your Homepage in Firefox?
Windows7 has the Default Browser setting under Control Panel > Programs >> Default Programs - Set Default Programs -- Set Program Associations.

If the later, have you tried resetting your Homepage in Firefox?

MyHeritage is a super sneaky program, which I suppose is more of an irritant than anything else, but WHAT an irritant! Like walking through a nest of newly hatched ticks!

After uninstalling, I had to troll through my C: drive>program files and find more bits and pieces there and remove them.

I tried the revo uninstaller, but by then I had gotten most of it out of my computer, but not all!

I found that it was hiding as my home page in my computer, even though I had changed it with mozilla.I have Windows 7 and went to control panel>network and internet>internet options>change you home page. I switched this to my igoogle, but you can make it whatever you want.

Lastly, it had also hijacked my keyword.URL in the firefox address bar. I had to go to about:config ( a scary and very serious computery place and fix the keyword.url there.)

It seems gone now, but I'm not counting my chickens yet.
