My children are visiting sites and entering passwords and ID information to those sites and I need to retain all information until I visit it. Can I make any deletion password required? I would need the site, the ID and the password for that site.

I think the easiest thing to do would be to create a Master Password. That will subsequently need to be entered to access the existing passwords in Tools | Options | Security and will also be needed to log in to sites that require authentication.

To keep your passwords secure outside of the browser, install Keypass which is an open source password manager/generator: http://keepass.info/

It sounds like what you are looking to do is keep an eye on what the kids are up to on the computer.

I suspect, then, that the most useful thing for you to do would be to install some kind of monitoring software or key-logging software, which will keep a record of what they actually do, including any passwords that they may type in.

Some free and/or open source software is available for this, a quick Google search (http://www.google.com/search?q=open+source+keylogger) reveals PyKeyLogger, MyHook and KidLogger. I haven't tried any of these personally, so do check them out and read any reviews, but any one of them will probably help you to do what you want. Be aware that often Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software will look for keylogging software, so once you have chosen one that you trust, you may need to add an exception to your Anti-Virus software (check the manual for your software to see how to do this if it's an issue).

The advantage of this approach is that it works even if they use Private Browsing mode - which would otherwise keep absolutely no record of what they might do.

Hope this helps,

You're right about that. I am trying to police the computer action of all my kids. I'll try the software you suggested and thanks again

There's also an enhanced Master Password extension which might be useful to you too. See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/master-password/

I think the keylogging software is a better route for me to take. Thanks for your reply.
