When I imported my bookmarks from IE, Firefox completely rearranged them (alphabetically, whereas I had painstakenly organized them by functional priority. I would like to keep this old set of bookmarks open and on the left of the screen, like they are in IE. Is this possible in Firefox?

You can export the bookmarks in IE to an HTML file and import that HTML file in Firefox to avoid that.

  • Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
  • Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File
