Why is firefox making too many temporary Profiles?
I have Windows 7 64-bit running Firefox 5.0.1
Generally I've ran into this time consuming problem before, but when firefox creates its cache, it stores it in multiple folders. Now the problem, Over 50,000 Files are in there rounding to 180 megabytes. My system, that has a fast harddrive and 2.9 i3 Ghz processor takes 8 minutes to delete these caches.
How can i make it so that it dosent store that much cache? Im ok with it if i need it if its necessary, but when cleaning with ccleaner or glary utilities, it takes ages.

-> click Firefox button and click Options -> Privacy panel -> History section -> Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History" -> place Checkmark on Clear History when Firefox Closes -> click Settings.. button -> place Checkmark on Cache -> click OK -> click OK on Options window
-> click Firefox button -> go to History and click Clear Recent History (or use CTRL SHIFT + DEL keys combination) -> under Time Range to Clear: select Everything -> click Details button -> select Cache and click Clear Now
Check and tell if its working.
-> for reference, see Clear Recent History feature

You can set the cache size here:
- Tools > Options > Advanced : Network: Offline Storage
You can uncheck the automatic setting and set the size that you want to use.
Cor-el, I have firefox 5, so the templates of where the "Advanced : Network : Offline storage" is in a different place where mine is
mha, i cant find the ""Use Custom Settings for History"" for firefox 5
Use Custom Settings for History - Options window - Privacy panel
Tools > Options > Advanced : Network: Offline Storage
In Firefox 5/6, you can:
- press the ALT key or the F10 key to temporarily display the Menu Bar and make selections from there
- Using Firefox button: click Firefox button > Options > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage
- ALT+T+O (to open the Options dialogs)
