Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

Ha just did it and it stopped in Safe mode. Then I re-closed the browser to restart bit by bit to determine the problem and it stopped doing it in normal mode before I stopped any add-on's, Go figure. If it does it again I will go back to safe mode and restart bit my bit to determine the problem if there is one.

Sounds like a plan - if it doesn't return please mark the issue resolved

Do you have any Norton stuff like toolbars?

That Temporarily resolved me Issue, but it came straight back. I'm in the process of disabling add-ons to try and see if any one of these is causing the problem

finally completed the disabling process, its not that I use alot of add-ons/plug ins its just that I lack the right time/motivation combination most days to do it.

Now everytime I did a reset on a disable the menus started coming up clear and fine again. the following time I opened Firefox, it was all back to square 1 with the instability.

could this be a firefox and 64bit issue, is there a special 64bit version or plug in that needs to be used with vanilla firefox?

Oh and I don't use toolbars, hate them with a passion. and programs that try and force me to install them really **** me off. so its not a toolbar clash issue.
