Whenever I open a new tab, it automatically connects to Yahoo!'s homepage. How do I change it so that it opens a blank page?
I recently installed a program that shows me the temperature of my Core, and during the installation I believe it changed the settings on Mozilla without asking permission. I have since uninstalled the program, but the problem persists. Whenever I used to open a tab in Mozilla Firefox, it opened a blank page. Now it automatically connects to Yahoo!'s homepage. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I have been working on it for an hour and cannot find a solution.

Hi schmiddy1247-
If you are seeing unwanted activity in your browser, you may have inadvertently installed a program. You can set your homepage by going into Firefox > Preferences. This won't affect what goes into new tabs.
As far as getting rid of Yahoo, you might searching your computer for more programs that may have been installed. If none of this works, I highly recommend uninstalling Firefox and upgrading to the latest version by following these steps:
- Get the latest version: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
- Uninstall your current Firefox version.
- Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
- Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
- Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I hope that helps!
A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.
