Hello, I am using Firefox Version 8.0 I am running on a freshley restored factory default of Windows XP.

Last night, It was working perfectly fine. But now Firefox responds to nothing.

Internet Explorer works fine, as does Safari.

When I open Firefox up, about:home is brought up with the normal Google search, and if I try to go to another page, about:home seems to 'refresh' and will not connect to the websites I desire.

Problems: 1) I click Bookmark. -about:home is 'refreshed' 2) I type in a web address. -about:home is 'refreshed' 3) Right Click -> Open New Tab (or Window) -Firefox opens a new Window/Tab, but the website does not load. (Empty blank page)

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
