Firefox will not copy pictures from webpages

more options

Basic Summary With Firefox version 12.0, now when I try to copy pictures and say paste them into a word document, it will only paste the URL for the picture. Steps For Recreating Event 1. Open up Firefox to a page with a picture. 2. Right click the picture, select copy image 3. Open up Microsoft Word, Right click on screen & select paste. 4. URL only appears.

Temporary Solutions Other browsers such as IExplorer & GoogleChrome will continue to work. Also if I rollback Firefox to version 11.0 It will work properly and not just paste in the picture URL. So it's made obvious that there is another bug with Firefox 12.0.

As a new feature in Firefox 12, when you copy an image, Firefox stores HTML code for the image so that it can be pasted into Gmail (and presumably some other online rich text editors). As you have discovered, there were some unintended side effects to this change. Those are now on the bug list to be fixed as described in this recent thread: Copy and Paste of Images NOT working. | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help.

Your best workaround for Word is to use the Paste Special feature. In Word 2003 and earlier, it's on the Edit menu. In Word 2007 and later, use the little drop-triangle under the clipboard icon.
