Personas: Leaving tab colour the way it is

I've just given into the incessant nagging and upgraded to Firefox 12 (from 3.6). Now I'm trying to make it look and feel just the way I like it. I used Personas to get rid of the transparency effect and found a colour that I liked - the problem is, it's turned my inactive tabs a really dark shade of grey, and black on grey is difficult to read.

If I had the choice, I'd keep the nice blue-grey colour of the default theme, but I've gone through dozens of Personas and none of them let me do that. Even installing Personas Plus and playing with custom Personas didn't help - the colour I want just isn't available.

Is there anything anyone can suggest that will let me have fine control over my tab colours? I know that there are probably extensions, but I'd rather not install more than I absolutely need.

You can disable transparency in Windows, see:

Right click in a free space on your desktop.
Left click on Personalization.
There are four options at the bottom of the screen, choose "Window Color and Appearance".
Select a border color
Uncheck: "Enable transparency"

That really isn't what I want. I don't mind transparency in most of my applications, as usually it only affects the title bar, and that's fine. But in Firefox the effect covers the entire toolbar area, which is somehow distracting. If there's a way to turn off Aero on a per-application basis, I haven't heard of it.

If you can answer my actual question about tab colours, please do. But please don't try to give me unrelated workarounds.

That's just the thing! Thanks so much; seems like I was looking at Personas when really I should have been browsing Themes!

Thanks again!
